FLAF 2020 – Dubh Lee, Millie Daniel-Dempsey & Amy Robyn Lyster, and Gemma Dunleavy
Get ready for an action packed session of some of Dublin’s most talented women. We at the Five Lamps Festival host the “Women Who Rock” event every year as part of our Five Lamps Arts Festival main schedule. This year due to the Covid-19 outbreak we were forced to delay this event and many others. As Ireland has moved to another severe lockdown, however, we at the Five Lamps Arts Festival have ensured that you can enjoy the event from the comfort and safety of your own home by recording the entire event with D-Light Studios.
In this the first full event of our 2020 online festival, we have attracted a fantastic lineup, that provide three very unique shows of rock, dance, and pop.
Dubh Lee is a folk and blues-rock singer and guitarist. She performs three songs “Treason”, “Whitney Heuston”, and her brand new single “Carousel”. She has utilised lockdown well by performing at many online gigs such as the HotPress Lockdown and she continues this with an electrifying performance with us at the Five Lamps Arts Festival.
Azalea and Rhododendron
Azalea and Rhododendron is a dance performance by Millie Daniel-Dempsey and Amy Robyn Lyster. This performance serves as a playful investigation into the comradery of women and the intricacies of the female bond.
We are joined at the end by the incredibly fantastic Gemma Dunleavy who is exploding onto the scene at the moment. Gemma is hot off the back of the release of her debut EP ‘Up De Flats’. She is a growing talent in the North Dublin Arts scene and her performance certainly lives up to the hype. She opens with her song “Cruisin”, before continuing with a song she says gives voice to a mother’s love in “Setting Son”. She concludes with the title song of her EP, the hit “Up De Flats”.
