On Friday 2nd of July in Charleville Mall Library we had the launch of our children’s book “I REMEMBER…” written by Niamh Gleeson and illustrated by Ruth Ryan.
The plot of this lovely children’s book is about a little girl called Kate who loved listening to Nanny’s brilliant stories about growing up on Sheriff Street. But now she just sits in the chair and doesn’t even talk. “Ma says Nanny can’t remember things anymore. Why not? Is there a memory robber going around?”
Niamh Gleeson is a playwright and screenwriter. Her play ‘Dear Frankie’ was staged in the Gaiety Theatre and toured Ireland extensively. She is writer-in-residence in Marino College and her plays for children are performed for Primary School audiences every December. She has been an episode writer for RTE’s continuing drama, Fair City, since 2017. ‘I remember…’ is her first children’s book
You can buy this book in K&A Stores in Seville Place, Cloud Cafe, Books Upstairs, Books at One, The Book Haven, Winding Stair Bookshop, Hodges Figgis, Spar (Vernon Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin 3) or by sending us an email to here
We would like to thank our supporters North East Inner City Dublin, Dublin City Council and Arts Council Ireland. And mention that the proceeds of the book will be used for the development of new community projects.
