Join us for an evening of film screenings at the Odeon in The Point Village. Each film will be followed by a Q&A session with the filmmakers.
HOMETOWN by Jonathan Lambert, 5 pm ( 9 minutes long)
Leanne takes her son, Sam, to the local pub on his 10th birthday. As boredom and chaos unfolds, Sam waits for her to call it a night, culminating in events that will leave a lasting impact on the young boy.
TWO HALVES, 5.30 pm,( 8 minutes long)
Two Halves is a short film written and directed by Patrick Osborne, the author of the novels Baxter’s Boys & When Your Number’s Up. The film explores the topic of referee abuse in football and its implications for society as a whole.
IN BETWEEN SILENCE, where we really exist (6pm , 74 minutes long)
In Between Silence, where we really exist is a collectionof over 150 intimate personal stories by leading Irish and international writers and artists including Aidan Gillen, Roddy Doyle, Anne Enright, Paula Meehan, Ron Carter (Bassist for Miles Davis), Marie Howe (New York State Poet) all who have a story to tell. Presented in a unique film format by groundbreaking Irish composer STANO, his interest is in rediscovering the power of the shared experience of music and storytelling, of listening, of allowing our imagination to bring us on our own journey while engaging with the voice of the storyteller.
OUR BLUE WORLD: A WATER ODYSSEY (7.30 pm, 86 minutes long)
Our Blue World,” narrated by Liam Neeson and produced by Ruán Magan, explores how ancient wisdom can keep us connected to water’s power for a better future. Featuring global experts, it reveals water’s significance and inspires us to keep transforming our planet. Thanks to our partners.
