About Us
The Five Lamps Arts Festival
The Five Lamps Arts Festival, located in the heart of the community in Dublin’s North East Inner City, was founded in 2007 by Roisin Lonergan, a former teacher from Marino College.
We are a smart and resourceful community–based team working year-round with local people and professional artists to put culture, creativity and diversity at the heart of the area’s regeneration.
Since its first edition, the Festival has grown to become a center for the creation and presentation of locally relevant, artistically ambitious works and is a highly regarded and much-loved part of the community.
We believe that everyone should be able to experience and participate in arts and creativity.
Our Mission
To foster widespread appreciation of and participation in arts, culture and creative activity throughout Dublin’s North East Inner City.
Our Vision
All residents of Dublin’s North East Inner City should be able to access and participate in arts, culture, and creativity.
THE TEAM
Róisín Lonergan
Artistic Director
Róisín set up the Five Lamps Arts in 2007 while working as a teacher at Marino College. As well as curating the Festival, she is the Artistic Director who nurtures relationships with the local community.
Marcela Parducci
Project Manager
A Brazilian professional passionate about community development and the arts. The driving force behind the festival, with a deep commitment to promote community engagement to connect local artists, volunteers, and participants, creating a space where diverse talents flourish. Through her visionary leadership, the Five Lamps Arts Festival has become a celebration of cultural diversity, inspiring dialogue, and creating meaningful connections among individuals from all walks of life. Marcela is a true catalyst for change, using the power of the arts to create a more inclusive and vibrant community.
Maria Valencia
Communications
With a background in Graphic Design, working as part of the Five Lamps Arts Festival Marketing Team. She lives locally, her children go to a local school, so her investment in the Festival is personal as well as professional.
EDUARDO NOGUEIRA
Media producer/ graphic designer
Eduardo has a degree in Design and Film Production. He has worked for film and TV companies across Europe and South America.
THE BOARD
DEIRDRE FLANNERY
Deirdre is a practicing barrister with an interest in music and visual arts.
MICHAEL RAFFERTY
Mick has spent more than 35 years working in community development. He has both produced and acted in dramas for the Festival with his community theatre group,Uncut Diamonds..
MAEVE FOREMAN
Maeve lives in the Five Lamps area and is a former Assistant Professor in Social Work at Trinity College Dublin. She also sits on the board of the Irish Refugee Council.
CLAIRE MCGOWRAN
Claire is a Five Lamps local with a background in media and campaigning. Currently, she works with The Wheel on the We Act campaign.
PIA POLOTTO
Pia is an Operations and Facilities manager at UCD. Before moving to Ireland Pia worked as a journalist in her native Argentina.
