Bathnight on Henrietta Street takes place on the 24th of July, 1969. And what’s so important you might ask? Is it that man has just landed on the moon with all Ireland gripped around their TV sets as man takes one giant leap into the unknown? Not a bit of it! It’s Bathnight on Henrietta Street and that’s as big as man landing on the moon any day! There’s the water, that has to be lugged up the four flights of stairs, then heated. Then there’s Erol to be found! And only then, if there’s enough money in the meter, there might be a bag of chips and an hour in front of the telly, rabbit ears and all.
