Patrick O'Dea sitting outside a pub having a pint of Guinness

Inside the mind of a Do-Gooder

An entertaining stage story of a social worker caught between empowerment and disillusion, read by Phelim Drew. A social worker trying to keep faith with a social work that aspired to the ’empowerment and liberation of people’. A story of illusion, delusion and disillusion, as he reflects on the journey’. Wonderfully idiosyncratic and entertaining. Patrick O’Dea is a writer and former social worker with 40 years’ experience, including 17 teaching at Trinity College Dublin, author of three books on social work and lived experience. Theatre Phelim Drew is an Irish stage and screen actor, performed at the Abbey and Gate Theatres; known for The Commitments and tours Remembering Ronnie, honouring his father of The Dubliners.
