The Five Lamps Arts Festival was proud to support the launch of “One Fur All: A Tail of Changing Ireland” on the 21st July in the Hogan Stand Pub.
This is the second book about the fearless Fergus the Fox. He’s a heroic, furry fella who helps save the other black and white sionnaigh trapped by nasty pelt traders.
It’s an exciting and heartwarming (excuse the pun) tail, but there’s a deeper meaning here too. it is, at heart, a parable that teaches young adult readers about tolerance, diversity and difference in modern Ireland.
Patricia McCarthy, who wrote the book, has a fantastically warm, witty and entertaining writing style, while Sophia Rafferty’s illustrations are charming and, well, just very lovely.
And we’ve got pictures! Family, friends and members of the North East Inner City community joined us for an evening of celebration and mighty craic.
We want to thank Dr. Salome Mbugua, CEO of AkiDwa, who launched the book and Senator David Norris for his powerful message on the night.
“One Fur All: A Tail of Changing Ireland” will soon be available in all good stores. For now, you can buy a copy from the Five Lamps by sending an email to contact@fivelampsarts.ie.
