Mirroring is a nonverbal technique where a person copies the body language, vocal qualities, or attitude of another. This performance intends to connect people through the materiality of exchanging a scarf and the gaze, observation, and repetition as a mutual language.
After exchanging your scarf with the artist, she invites you to sit in front of her by a dressing table with no mirror, and copy or be copied throughout the self-adornment process with the textile. How can we trust the unknown and share subjective notions of identity, culture, time, and appreciation for the other through the self?
Thais Muniz invites participants to come and experiment with it together.
